Today's Math

Today I was able to answer every single maths question I had for the rest of the day and now I am getting extra chocolate ;) Here are the questions

WE ARE LEARNING TO find fractions of whole and fixed numbers

Yesterday we were left with 6 chocolate bars split between 13 children. How much chocolate would each child now receive? 6/13

Miss stone doesn’t feel like chocolate today. How much chocolate would each child receive if their are seven chocolate bars.

There were supposed to be 14 children in our group, how much chocolate would each child receive if there were 7 chocolate bars. 7/14 equivalent to 1/2

Who I Am

Hi, My name is Levi , I am Maori and I was born in the former Greenlane Hospital (Now Greenlane Clinical Centre) on Feb 13th 2004. My Dad died when I was three from cancer and my Mum is still working hard at the age of 52.

webcam-toy-photo2.jpgMy idea of a great day at school is doing fitness at the start of the day and to be able to read a lot in between, I enjoy reading quite a lot because I like the sense of immersion that you feel when you are in the middle of the book.

I have 5 siblings, all of them are older than me by at least 10 years, so I’m the baby of the family. My Mum had her first child when she was 17 and me at 40. My 2nd oldest brother is the maturest of us he has a wife, 2 children and he’s planning to make a company, he’s also been made champion in his boxing centre.

My oldest brother has been to prison many times, he has since gotten out and has 2 children and a girlfriend, and like the 2nd oldest he is also a champion in his boxing centre. Now, I know what you’re thinking, ‘why are you going on about your siblings? I thought this was supposed to be about you?’ well, my dear reader, it’s just that I've run out of ideas of what to write, oh? did I mention that I’m bad at writing?

Nevermind, just remembered something actually interesting about me, I have a job, - if you consider it that way - I make logo’s for gamers and for each logo has a price about $1 - $3.50 and I can make avi popouts - I’m too lazy to write on what it is, just search it up - for an extra $1. I just started a month ago and I am now intermediate level working on 3d logo’s.

The End.

Nah I’m serious it’s time to stop reading, laters.

Sincerely your’s

Vege Car By Peter Stevens

Vege Car by Peter Stevens

This is an article about a man named James Nui and his journey to protest against the Iraq war. James Nui made a car that could run on Vegetable oil and he tries to get the word out with James Iti. To get the word out they needed to prove it was reliable so they drove across New Zealand from Bluff to Cape Reinga but they had a rough start. They had a smooth ride later on but it was a little to smooth and so they got a speeding ticket.

I liked this article because it talked about protesting against The Iraq war.

Hello, Joy Cowley By Sarah Reid

Hello, Joy Cowley By Sarah Reid

I like this story because it shows me the troubles one can go through when one procrastinates and doesn’t do their homework.  Most of the time I do procrastinate  and I save it for the last day. It doesn’t feel good when I rush to finish my homework and my writing is messy and I break my pencil and I have to find my sharpener.

I learnt that I can almost fail because I procrastinate and I could  have done more than before. I like this story because it teaches me about procrastination and what I could do to prevent the troubles.

Making Bread

           Making Bread

Walt: write an explanation on making bread

Success Criteria: My writing will have
  1. A title
  2. An identifying statement
  3. Explanation written in sequence
  4. A summary statement
  5. Nouns, present tense verbs and time and sequence words

Making Bread

Bread is made from different ingredients. These ingredients are sugar, milk, butter, olive oil, rapid yeast, salt ,flour and milk.
First, combine the flour, yeast and sugar in a large bowl. Then stir in salt and then make a well in the centre and put warm milk and butter.

Then, stir the mixture until made into dough.

Next, use your hands to bring the dough together in the bowl. Soon after that turn the dough onto a light surface and knead it until the dough is smooth and elastic.

After that, brush a large bowl with olive oil to grease. Then place the dough into the bowl and cover it with a damp tea towel and set it aside in a warm, draught-free place to settle for 45 minutes - 1 hour or until the dough has double sized.

Then, knead the centre of the dough with your fist. After that turn the dough onto a lightly floured place and then knead for two minutes or until the dough is elastic and has turned to it’s original size. Once it has turned to its original size, it is ready to bake.

Next, put the dough into a loaf pan and place it into a preheated 200 °C oven for about 35 minutes. When the bread is fully baked , it will sound “hollow” when it is  tapped with the finger. It will easily fall out of the loaf pan. It is now time to set the loaf of bread aside to cool down.

The yummy loaf of bread is now ready to share with your family.

My Week-End

My Week-End

Last weekend I woke up and went into my room and I just sat in my room playing games like Saints row 4(A Shooter), Grand Theft Auto 5(A Shooter) and Crysis 3(A Shooter) . Then I played on my computer and just looked at video’s for about an hour. After a while my nephew called me on Skype and we played Minecraft (a popular building game) for about 6 hours.

After that we switched games and we played Grand Theft Auto 5 online together. We had just got new clothes, repaired our cars, flew planes and killed each other. After all of that my nephew and I got tired so we both went to sleep.

On Sunday, I woke up all messy and went to my computer to see if my nephew was online so we could play, but sadly he wasn’t on so I just watched video’s while I was waiting for him for about 3 hours. Finally my nephew got online so I called him on Skype and I played with him on Gta 5 Online and Minecraft for most of the day.

Next he logged off his computer so I went to play on my trampoline and I did some back-flips. Once I got bored I laid down for about 1 minute before I had to go and have dinner. After that I went to my small bed and watched  TV for about 2 hours.  Then fell into a nice deep sleep.

Taste Buds By Levi R

Taste Buds

WALT Create acrostic poems

The taste on your tongue when you eat something yum
Always helping you with the joy of the day just keep on eating no matter what they say
Sweet heat makes you blush all day long no matter what!
Tasting everything in your sight don’t eat too much or you might have your doubts
Eating healthy every day of the year don’t eat your sprouts or you might have your doubts
Biting your food will help you taste come on and bite again
Uses a lot of saliva to taste
Drives you crazy when you eat something sour
Sour power makes you crazy eat something sweet when you've gone too crazy
