Hey, My blogs have been recently falling behind, so I thought I might as well blog some old maths questions

Here's the first:

Levi’s Train

                             We are learning to use appropriate units for time

A train leaves the station on time. After it has gone 8km the driver looks at his watch and sees that the hour hand is exactly over the minute hand.

The average speed of the train over the 8km was 16KpH.

When did the train leave the station?

11:30  

What if the train was traveling at 20KpH?

11:25

Sharing Lollies

           We are learning to identify equivalent fractions

Maara and her three friends are going to share a licorice lace. If the lace is 12cm long, what length of the lace will each friend get? What fraction will they get? 1/4 3 cm

2 other friends approach Maara and would like some of the lace too. How can they split the lace (which has already been cut into quarters) between 6 people equally.   2/12

What would happen if yet another two friends wanted a share? 3/24

How many cm of the lace would they recieve? 1.5 cm

Today's Math

Today I was able to answer every single maths question I had for the rest of the day and now I am getting extra chocolate ;) Here are the questions

WE ARE LEARNING TO find fractions of whole and fixed numbers

Yesterday we were left with 6 chocolate bars split between 13 children. How much chocolate would each child now receive? 6/13

Miss stone doesn’t feel like chocolate today. How much chocolate would each child receive if their are seven chocolate bars.

There were supposed to be 14 children in our group, how much chocolate would each child receive if there were 7 chocolate bars. 7/14 equivalent to 1/2

Yesterday's Math

Yesterday we had these maths questions and I don't mean to brag buuuuuut I finished this faster than anyone else ;) Anyway have a try with the questions. P.S you better not peak at the answers if you do.

Levi and Jayden have tickets for Rainbows end. Their tickets allow them to go on 20 rides each. In the first hour, Levi goes on 7 rides while Jayden goes on 6.

What is the fraction for the number of rides Levi goes on compared if his total number of rides?

7/20

Write the fraction for the number of rides Jayden has.

6/20

Write the fraction for the total number of rides the boys went on in the first hour compared with their total number of rides.

13/40

What fraction of their rides do they have left?

27/40

Moses has 17/4 of a bar of chocolate in his school bag. He gives Taki 5/4 of his chocolate. How much chocolate does Moses have left over? 3 wholes

Fusi also has some chocolate. After she gives Linda Kiki ⅞ of a bar she has 63/8 left.  How much chocolate did she have in the first place? 70/8 8 wholes and six-eighths
